The Wagon is a 6 track album, composed by Fabio Battistetti/Eniac, between 2004 and 2006.
The carrying topic of The Wagon is the railway suggestion: traveling on a train is a temporary place, and a typical place to observe Eniac, the music for this project starting from this compositional point.

The Wagon is also a mixedmedia performance where the audio side meets the visual set (based on landscapes from the wagon's window).

The author has always had a passion for traveling by train, this passion became habit when he started traveling everyday along the railway Turin - Milan, during these trips he composed a couple of songs of the album (with a laptop), and he began to plan the mixedmedia version of this project, and he filmed the video: Packetfiltering.

Produced at home and on a train during 2004; recorded and edited between May 2005 and January 2006, by Fabio Battistetti. Instruments: laptop, pedal effect, field recordings.

Eniac - The Wagon

Eniac

Eniac is a musical project by Fabio Battistetti, started in 1998 as lo-fi experimentation, as a research in the wellknown
(samples) with the purpose of trasforming (distortions) and re-elaborating it, a technique that Eniac
describes as: “something new from something which isn’t”.
The project has evolved to a more concrete and musical structure, and today is a constantly evolving set of
electro music, from melodic glitch to the explosion of rhythms.

Chronology :

In the spring of 2004, Eniac was selected to represent Piemonte's electronic music in the world trough
Piemonte Groove(http://www.piemontegroove.com).

In November 2006, he founded (with Daniele Pagliero): Chew-Z, a netlabel that supports electronic and experimental musicians: http://www.chewz.net

Eniac has a musical alter ego,For For A (44A): an ambient noise project inspired by the topic of the fall of
today's world, a conceptual project, and a physical one, at the same time (for the sounds).

Eniac also works in cinematic projects: in 2001 he realized the first audio/video set: “Blowed Up” that
is a project of movie image re-elaboration, revisited by the eye of a videocamera. In the spring of
2005 he participated in the event: In/Off Camera (Cafe Liber - Turin), doing a live soundtrack of two acts
from the film: Berlin, Die Symphonie Einer Grossstadt (Berlin, Symphony of a Great City), Walther Ruttmann,
1927; the result of this work is a private press dvd. He worked on a live set, with a slideshow on the topic of
moving by train, inspired by the album The Wagon.

Today, he works on a performance project (real time audio-video-dance processing), with Headvision /
Roberto Zitolo (videomaker) and Nadessja (dance performer): B-Light Project.

Eniac started playing live in 1999 and is still active right now, around the dance floor and the
experimental scene. Eniac’s live set is usually a special show different every time and always evolving in a new
form.

Eniac is a single person and several tools: a computer most of the time, an old casio keyboard and sometimes a
broken acoustic guitar...

Fabio Battistetti was born in Turin in April 1975, works in information technology, hosts an independent music
show on Radio Flash and Radio Torino Popolare and writes about music and art on Rumore, Exibrat, Zero11,
Sodapop; he edits the webzine: La Mini and is also a dj into electro and other
dancefloor stuff.
