FIRST AID KIT is the first release of this new netlabel, a presentation of some Italian musicians (and not only) which represent the concept and the ethic of Chew-Z, from our point of view, these are extraordinary musical projects: the constance and the evolution of Daniele Brusaschetto, one that experiments and self-produces his records for over ten years, now is approaching a songwriter style, now it?s time that his talent comes out!

The freshness of a young band like Japanese Gum, with a sound between a digital shoegazing and ancestral ballads; the voice of Patrizia Oliva (Madame P), is at the canter of her music, a wonderful artist and person, always running around the world; Satan Is My Brother: they appear like a jazz band, actually, they are stretching to an electronic expanded sound. 9Cento9, is the project of Marco Milanesio, a sound engineer and a producer, and founder of the musical project DNE; 3EEM, A resonant magma, always contracting and expanding, for this sampler, they play an improv song (waiting for their second album); Eniac, the first super computer, that today chews electronic beats to animate them. Die Stadt Der Romatische Punk, the ambient noise personal project of Jukka Reverberi from Giardini di Mirò; Lo Dev Alm, the electronic synthesis between analog and digital; Pentliczec (Dominik Gawara),a polish percussionist and experimenter, actually living in Torino; Stefano Giust, the mind of Setola di Maiale, involved in a lot of musical projects, between avant jazz and electronica; Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo, the guitarist of Larsen and a solo musician, but also involved in other international collaborations; Frammenti, and their evolution from one of the most beautiful sounds from hardcore/punk.; Mannypol (Paolo Dalla Piana), another member of Larsen, and author of electronic music (soon, he will release his first album); UR, an industrial trio, with a past in the hardcore/punk scene; they are linear and very noisy.

Blow Up 115 - Mogli&buoi

Siamo ormai nel campo sconfinato della manipolazione elettronica, territorio di caccia delle più innovative netlabel quali Chew-Z e Muertepop. Le pagine web curate da Fabio Battistetti annoverano un roster di tutto rispetto, con 3eem, Daniele Brusaschetto, Die Stadt von Romantische Punk, Eniac, Frammenti, che si intersecano ad altre personalità ricorrenti nel giro alt-sperimentale, non di rado fautori di progetti coprodotti. Muertepop invece è più giovane e opera nel Salento (Chew-Z parte da Torino, città tronica per eccellenza nell'anno 2007)

"First aid kit" è una compilation dalle atmosfere algide come un fior di fragola, rilasciata dalla net zine Chewz.net, contenente alcuni dei nomi più cool dell'elettronica emergente italiana.
Come in ogni compilazione, capita un po' di tutto. Innanzitutto tracce "wow", come il dub tarantiniano dei 3EEM, le rarefazioni Pole di (r) e gli onanismi noise alla Gerogerigegege di Die Stadt Romatische Punk.
Seguono tracce "cowabunga wow!": gli stati di coscienza alterati dai sintetizzatori dei MannYPoL (progetto che presenta forse il modus operandi più semplice del disco, ma fa effetto uguale) e le obliquità del pop "sbagliato" presentato dai Frammenti in un pezzo che sarebbe potuto uscire da una meteora '90s come Erz, se solo avesse seguito il modello dei Seefeel in loco del ben più accessibile Goldie.
Infine rimangono le tracce "così così": esempi come "Black Synthetic" di Daniele Brusaschetto: una bellissima base su cui va a posarsi una vocalità ancora timidamente sgraziata, seguita dalle registrazioni tipo "regionale proveniente da Milano Centrale", passate al delay dagli Ur. Insomma, 'mbriachi prima di prendere il treno. Ed i pezzi alla "cambia 'sto cazzo di cd" ? E… Si… Oddio, ma…. Ce ne sono davvero? Beh, perché se si, io mica le ho trovate, il che la dice lunga, quantomeno sulla meticolosità della selezione.
Il lavoro presentato da chewz.net è davvero lodevole in effetti, sebbene non offra un punto d'entrata immediato sul mondo delle sperimentazioni e non sia quindi destinato agli ascoltatori meno smaliziati. Ma alla fine, non è mica un cd da comprare on-line o nei negozi, è una compilation in mp3. Scaricarla non costa nulla, basta solo avere voglia di scoprire.
