We're planning new releases, starting from the second issue from the Stock Options of Simone Pelliconi and finally the remix single of Daniele Brusaschetto's Clouds (featured on his album: Fragranze Silenzio).
Our beloved musicians are always on the run !
3EEM will release the 4th album on White Label Music on the 24th October, check a preview here.
GBUR has published a new album (from a live impro session in Treviso in 2009), Live At MAVV, that feature "our" Stefano Giust, Daniele Pagliero, Dominik Gawara and also: Ivan Pilat, Davide Lorenzon, Alessandro Fiorin Damiani, Alberto Collodel. Order through Setola Di Maiale.
( r ) is comin back to London for a show with Cindytalk and Julia Kent at Cafe OTO on the 18th October.

The summer is falling down, so we're restarting our activities.
First of all, we'll meet during the Torino Synth Meeting on sunday 4th September in Torino. It's an event dedicated to musicians and of fans of synthetizers, Chew-Z will be the soundtrack of the meeting with a special dj set. Kinetik Laboratories and Sandlblasting will present a special synth live set.

The orchestra features: Sick (Aritmia), Paul Beauchamp, Eniac, Ezra, FL, Lo Dev Alm, Toni Guga, Muteoscillator, Nig Nig Nig, Pangrus, PassEnger, Urbanspaceman, Xluve and Roger Rama as Director.

Escapism's first review - ( r ) in UK & new video

Escapism has been reviewed on Electronique magazine.
This incredible work of Riga, Milanese trio, I admit, I made so far unknown Nencioni Martino, Riccardo Pietroboni and Jacopo Barbaccia. To deal with them the Chew-Z, a label founded by Fabio Battistetti Turin and Daniele Pagliero that combines a few years the concept of independent label netlabel that of "traditional" and thus ensure a free download of all the disks and also sell other products through the online shop.
Now the point is this, the Chew-Z does not deal sound easy, in fact, their creed is that of a sound that can, through innovative ideas, advancing the electronic scene in an intelligent and never predictable. From what I hear in these times can I ensure that everything runs to perfection, and that this project should be preserved and supported without reservation.
This Escapism then in addition to being distributed as a free download is sold in an elegant digipack with minimal graphics and icy in tone, but the real point on which explanation is undoubtedly the music.
The line shown here to have clear ideas as well as a finished design in detail we outline their project by penetrating even the smallest vibration in our minds. We speak of an oblique and obscure sound that slowly takes shape in a sophisticated layering that tends to blend in brilliantly every single sound stream then making it become part of one long vision.
Since the initial "Xero" clear the array of experimental work that winds through low frequency current investing environment literally immersed in the mist of the abyss, following a wave of rising tension and then return again silent and give space the sweet sound of a xylophone that winds its echo in the distance.
It 's just the preamble to the next "Kline Coma" track, which introduces over a tangle of bass rhythm section, the master of ceremonies broken here and sweet harmonious melody created by the use of solitary notes. We are already in the center of a vortex where the scan time is a winning for the creation as the dynamics of the songs.The rule seems to be in control every single element, managing creativity with a disorienting.
"Js" takes up a ambient speech left more or less in the mid 90's rhythm and phrasing of investing in synth doubling, we are almost in the area for body post-rock but the electronic matrix remains unchanged and it is the pace (still broken) to draw all the attention around him.
With the passage of minutes we go into an area inhabited by mutant increasingly kaleidoscopic sound and scientific in their own way which can not fail to blow the mind and that Monolake MANUFACTURED industry which has accustomed us to a song like "Vector", and the following "Confusion" throws us headlong into a psychedelic rainbow populated by strings of notes that follow each other in a heavenly mood interval then towards the middle of writing, from the entrance of the low as it will all collapse into a rhythmic drill'n 'bass handled with extreme delicacy.
"Larva" is collection of electronic samples, different types of microscopic glitch and a shady carpet that carries the movements, it is clear an expression of pure sound-design and slips for six long minutes without letting aim fatigue.
Follows a path that brings out ghosts drone bodied and always enriched with every kind of sound source, in the end it seems to me that the line can be perfectly enhance the songs without ever weighing it down and I repeat never, have a gift that only large , for determining the elements time managing in a timely way and aimed at non-linearity is concerned by all.
"White Stem" for a dream final, a drone abysmal made magical by the sound of the keyboard and a stylized column rhythmic muffled, all intoxicated by a shower of dew which vaporizes the essence of electricity.

Eniac is on tour this summer with Into The Wood performance, next weekend on Finale Ligure for the 24th Hours Of Finale (an happening of mountain bikers)

It 's a pleasure to announce the new album from Riga, a band that best represents our vision of the future of music.
Riga - Escapism [CWZ022]
Escapism represents the sound aesthetics of Riga and it’s the result of a long research: Their meaning of electronic music is something pure, linked to the essence of sound, to the drifts and to the echoes of this and other worlds. They work as a trio during both production and live, they sharpen textures full of drones and penetrating rhythms. They don’t play the last hype of electronic music, but the play something that goes beyond the places, following the same imaginary of Chew-Z, which for us is like the beat of a heart.
Escapism has been anticipated in March by the single White Stem, on which Riga has produced a videoclip

Finally they are goin to release the first full length on Chew-Z; it will be out in April, but right now you can listen to and watch to the single White Stem.

Two days of live performances
Today's electronic music starts from bedrooms in front of a laptop, before going out and spreading around the world, through either clubs or art galleries, and Torino has always been a breeding ground of minds.
"Tacuma!" is the occasion for gathering its standard-bearers and new upcoming talents under the same roof, sharing their own experiences in a jam made of beats and electronic sounds.
This is the first edition.

On our diary, today it’s the forth year from the begin of our journey from Mars to Earth 4 years ago and we still haven’t reach the destination.
In the meantime we announce that our friend, Daniele Brusaschetto has published a new album “fragranze silenzio” available at his personal label Bosco Rec, in few days, we’ll publish the digital single including “Clouds” and two exclusive remixes of Binary.
We're part of an upcoming festival of electronic music in Torino: Tacuma !

Folks ! This time we've released two new records in the same time.

Palumbo/Tomasini – The Hunting Dogs Of Boötes The Herdsman
These two works are related to each other by the presence and collaboration among musicians. Paul is not new to you: this is the second episode of Sala B, Palumbo is actually Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo or ( r ) and the project Palumbo/Tomasini is now called ALMAGEST! And features Paul Beauchamp and Evor Ameisie.
Chew-Z is undergoing a process of evolution that will take shape in coming months, from now each release will be available in cd and mp3 (partial download), the cd is a limited edition in digipack available trough our shop.

Paul Beauchamp continues his personal serie of ep (Sala B), Intervention is the second episode and features 3 tracks and a remix of Jóhann Jóhannsson.
Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo and Ernesto Tomasini will publish on the 22th of October The Hunting Dogs Of Boötes The Herdsman, a collection of live band versions and remixes of all the songs of album Canes Venatici. On the same day, they celebrate this release with a one-off show at the prestigious Volksbuehne theatre in Berlin.
In November, we'll welcome Daniele Brusaschetto on our catalogue, we know him from its beginning (Mudcake, Whip and his solo project). He's goin to publish the eighth album, Fragranze Silenzio, Chew-Z will publish the digital single Clouds at the begin of november including a remix.
CWZ020 and CWZ021 will be available also on digipack cd edition trough our shop (http://www.chewz.net/shop).
CWZ022 will be an exclusive preview for free download.

“ERRONEOUS, a selection of errors” is the result of the meeting of Italian cult band Larsen and Steven Stapleton’s ubiquitous creature Nurse With Wound.
Almost 2 years of file swapping and occasional conceptual meetings led to a multi-headed collection of deformed sounds based on one long NWW piece and two Larsen tracks (that both bands have written specifically for this project) then deconstructed and rebuilt by each other into totally brand new opuses.
“ERRONEOUS” also features Neu! and Kraftwerk original member Eberhard Kranemann on additional guitars, synth, sax and vocals as well as Larsen collaborator Daniele Pagliero, a.k.a. Lo Dev Alm, on bass.
Just like the music, the artwork of the album is also a joint effort sporting works of Stapleton’s alter-ego Babs Santini, Larsen’s graphic designer Bellissimo and E. Kranemann.
Paul Beauchamp will publish his new ep (Sala B series), on Chew-Z in September featuring a remix by Jóhann Jóhannsson.

a live performance about the wood.
it's a sound immersion into the wood trough a wooden cubic structure.
it's a project about the environment and the relationship betwwen humans and the woods.
The performance will take place Saturday 17th July in Mondovì - Piazza (Cn) at 10 pm
in the days between the 15 & 17 july, the work will be part of the exhibition of SMIR in Antico Palazzo di Città, Mondovì - Piazza (Cn)

hey folks and humanoids... not so much time has passed from the last release, so this is a kind of surprise !
Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo has joined Chew-Z with his solo project ( r ).
The Ways To Love A Man is the digital single from the fothcoming album "Drama Queen".
Two alternative mixes of Fabrizio’s version of Tammy Wynette's classic torch song, one deconstructed and reconstructed by Daniele “Lo Dev Alm” Pagliero, plus an instrumental track exclusive to this ep.

“Drama Queen” is an album possessed by the transcending spirits of the holy divas of the uncivilized modern western society, our only true leading and totemic figures, merged within Fabrizio’s own world and musical vision featuring invaluable contributions by Jamie Stewart (of Xiu Xiu), Carla Bozulich (of Evangelista), Paul Beauchamp (of Blind Cave Salamander and Chew-Z artist) and has been co-produced by Fabrizio with Daniele Pagliero and Marco Milanesio (DsorDne, 9cento9).
“Drama Queen” will be officially released on September 2010 by Important Records, but a limited tour edition CD will be available at forthcoming ( r ) shows.

Unknown Language is the second album of Eniac (Fabio Battistetti).
9 tracks (2 remix) representing Eniac’s language in 2010.
The album has almost two different directions, one has a rhythmic orientation and the other one is “harmony-oriented”.
Unknown Language it's a collection of the last 2 years of research on sound design and live performance.

Music Restart - Rip! A Remix Manifesto
The italian DVD edition of the documentary film Rip! A Remix Manifesto (Brett Gaylor) has an extra stuff, a music compilation (Music Restart) that is selected by Fabio Battistetti and includes two Chew-Z's artists: Simone Pelliconi and Riga.
The Italian edition has been published by Feltrinelli under the Real Cinema series.
The documentary is directed by Brett Gaylor and it’s an interesting and brilliant history about the contradictions of Music Business related to the copyright.
The compilation include italian musicians that publish online music using a Creative Commons license :
Camusi, Hermitage, Simone Pelliconi, Stefano Amen, Black Era, Emily Plays, Riga, Tomme, Matera Electronics, Mihi Lavish, Hi Risk Cafe, Dresda.

This is an unexpected xmas gift from Chew-Z.
Pietra is a special release in joint venture with
Canebagnato and Grey Sparkle.

Pietra is the debut album of Christian Alati, recorded in 2007 in his recording studio (Codhouse).
A complex and intense work, divided into two different but complementary tracks, introduces into an ipnotic and unreal dimension with a gradual pace.
Monolithic in its funereal gait, it rarely concedes and digs from the inside to the inside.
The chords are drifted into silence; noises, distant sounds are recreated into infinite spaces depending on the listener availability.
Pietra is not an album that you can love or hate, but it’s an album that loves and hates you.

We met when we've started Chew-Z (they were into First Aid Kit compilation), then we've shared music experience and now they present to us: Third Segment.
It could be considered their third work, after the two albums on Small Voices and on White Label Music.
We like the essence of their sound: it could be the soundsystem for a tour around the solar system... and Chew-Z is the captain !

During these days we’re used to plan a trip to Planet Earth to verify the quality status of the music and for spreading on Earth our martian musicians. Sala B is a musical project inspired by a recent near-death experience I had consisting of several weeks in intensive care, two operations and thirty months of therapy. The doctors and physicians all considered my condition terminal and have said that is a miracle that I survived.
Sala B is divided into three segments published individually on EPs, each symbolizing the three majors aspects of the experience.
Rupture is the first of the three representing the events leading up to my arrival in the hospital emergency room.

Finally, here you are some new music ! we're proud to present on our catalogue the mighty Japanese Gum
with Lost In Weidness: a remix album.
They came from a town (Genova) that is one of the most beautiful in Italy (from our point of view) and that spreads a lot of interesting underground music.
We’ve been impressed by their shoegazing sound; we’ve shared emotions and some live experiences and we’ve liked their e.p. on Marsiglia Records: “Talking.Silently e.p.”, so we started thinking on a remixed edition and here you are the results…
The original delicate guitar drones has been forced under the pressure of the beats and rhythms by the hands of some other musicians (Arbdesastr, Die Stadt Der Romantisch Punks, Eniac, Grausamerg Eisenberg, Isan and Japanese Gum…); the reinterpretation has turned the songs in an alterated state: dreamy, coloured and onyric.

Lo Dev Alm will play live at No Fest! Festival in Torino, on the 20st of June at Spazio211. In the those days there will be the preview of My Beautiful Disco project (photos of Luca Saini) and music by Daniele Pagliero (Lo Dev Alm) with an LP release limited to 777 copies that will be featured on Chew-Z webshop.
At No Fest! Chew-Z will be present with records (limited editions) and t-shirt and we will part of a conference about the future of record labels.

Emerging from the italian underground, Chew Z netlabel is a result of an activity developed towards the promotion of small audience experimental music.
Curated by Daniele Pagliero and the hyperactive Fabio Battistetti, known for the Walkman podcast and who has also recently founded the italian netlabel community Nettare.org, share with us a careful selection of works touching experimental, ambient, field recording, idm, lo-fi or post rock styles.
Paraphrasing its motto, the platform serves as a research for the music of the future, but id go further, to the present also. This one hour mix brings directly from the artist to your ears a small sample of their audio span.

Chew-Z turns 2 !
We started on 23th november 2006 with a party in Torino at Cafe Liber, and now after two yeras we celebrate that date with a two days party at Hiroshima Mon Amour and Cafe Liber.
during there days we'll present a new release by Yorgl (Stunn: a 5 tracks ep, catalog number: CWZ012) and on Radio Flash 97.6 during Walkman (on saturday 22th november at 10pm) we'll play a mixtape of Chew-Z's music.

Chew-Z Netlabel announce today a new release available on our website.
The number 11 of our catalogue: an ep by Riga - CWZ011
This is the first release from Riga, a trio from Milan, Italy: their music is an investigation into the human being in today days. Their vision is about a world where people lives their lifes like robots.
Riga interact their musical taste with strong visions from our reality.
The music is a fascinating old school deep synth electronica, used with clever beats and evocative noises and drones. The compositions are brilliant, Riga uses crescendos in a way similar to a post-rock band does.
Mutant Fish is the author of their visuals used on live performances.
The ep is available here in digital download for free, but you can get a copy of the compact disc that included also the video tracks by Mutant Fish.
This work represent on a digital format, what a Riga & Mutant Fish live performance is.
This album is available in download through our website on mp3 format (320kps) in zip archive; on the release page you can listen all the tracks directly.
There will be a compact disc version of this release, available soon, it will include andio and video tracks.

This is the new website for Chew-Z.
We have a main new to announce today:
The number 10 of our catalogue, Fighting Back The Tears by Simone Pelliconi.
This is the first album for Simone on Chew-Z and it is the first episode on a series of releases called Stock Options: a journey in retrieving and re-editing old songs, raw sounds in a new way.
Fighting Back The Tears is our hit for the summer: happy IDM and some acid trips :)

Some notes about this artist.
Simone Pelliconi has started his artistic adventure in the 90's as singer and drum machine programmer into a new wave – rock band, when they splitted up, he continued his personal passion into programming and sampling.
In 1997, he founded with Oscuro Pier Nicola, the Amalsunta project, that released about twelve album, nine of these had been released on www.mp3.com.
From 2000 he started a new personal project switching from midi programming to the audio editing and audio tracking and then on the creation of sounds trough mathematics played by soft-synths, entering definitely on Computer Music.
From 2006, he started publishing his compositions and music collaborations on his blog, and also performing live.
